The fastest UCI legal full carbon wheels built to reach high speeds, hold momentum, and master every climb or descent. The Mavic COMETE 65 carbon wheelset blends advanced aerodynamics with ultra-light construction and exceptional rolling efficiency. The 65mm rim depth delivers low-drag performance for superior rolling efficiency and helps you maintain high speeds. Thanks to Adaptive Layup carbon technology and aero carbon spokes, this wheelset feels lively under acceleration and efficient at speed. Years of wind tunnel development and real-world testing have led to a new generation of Aero Wide rims, optimised for 30mm tyres. The result: a wheel that is not only faster in all wind conditions, but also lighter, more reactive, and easier to accelerate, from flat roads to steep climbs and technical descents. This 65/65 combo is the fastest of all Mavic's three Comete rim depths. If you love putting the power down on rolling roads, that's your Comete. As soon as the wind picks up, from around 10 km/h at a 10 to 20 degree incidence, the rim profile comes into its own and saves between 5 and 10 watts. Every fibre orientation has been tuned to meet the aerodynamic and mechanical demands of road racing. Mavic Aero Wide Rim & Shorter Footprint rim shape A section developed and validated through repeated testing. Objective: minimise drag, stabilise the wheel in crosswinds, maximise control at high speeds, improve ground contact surface efficiency. Instant Drive 360 technology Super light and efficient. The large contactless rubber seal provides low friction, while a wide array of end caps makes it super versatile. UST tubeless technology Traction and control. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort whilst reducing inertia and flats. Aero Spokes carbon spokes Ultra-flat, lightweight, and perfectly aligned to transmit power with surgical precision.
Spoke shape determined by wind tunnel testing to reduce drag from frontal and rotational airflow. 18% less rotational drag vs standard flat carbon spokes. What's in the box? Wheelset User guide UST valve not mounted on the wheel UST rim tape mounted on wheel ASTM category 1 : road only Full Carbon Reactivity you can feel The Adaptive Layup structure combines T700, T1000 and 3K fibres for the ideal balance of stiffness and dynamic behaviour, while 21 flat carbon spokes transmit every watt without loss and absorb road vibration for improved comfort and control. Every acceleration is more direct. Every trajectory more precise. Mavic Ceramic bearings with ultimate control Each component is validated on in-house machines capable of 57 different tests before a second round confirms the performance of the fully assembled wheel. Every detail of the hub has been redesigned for marginal gains: 40-tooth ratchets, optimised freewheeling spring, Mavic ceramic bearings, a more aerodynamic hub shell, lighter hub bodies and Locked-In Spoke Heads to stabilise spoke tension over time.
